Until her retirement in 2005, Mrs. Holman fought discrimination in Pennsylvania for 29 years, working with African-American organizations, women’s rights groups, people with disabilities and seniors who had suffered age discrimination. That same year she received the PHRC’s Professional in Human Rights Awards.
Raised in North Philadelphia, she was a graduate of Germantown High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Temple University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania.
